Kimberlyn Murawski or Katie
was born March 13, 1995, in Statesville, North Carolina. She grew up in Cornelius and Mooresville, North Carolina, and went to Appalachian State University to study Journalism and Film Studies. She enjoys roller derby and spending time with her dog, Blackbeard.
Murawski started out as an arts and entertainment reporter for The Appalachian newspaper and was promoted to arts and entertainment editor in two semesters. She has interned at three places in or around the Boone, North Carolina, area. She first interned at the local nonprofit, Wine To Water as the social media manager. Then she moved to the student television station, App T.V. where she interned as the traffic manager for the station, a writer for the comedy show “Up Late App State”, and creator and producer of the newscast “The Appalachian Update.” Murawski also has interned with The Avery Journal-Times, a community weekly newspaper in Newland, North Carolina.
She would like to have a career as a multimedia journalist, reporter, editor, and television news producer.
